Coronavirus and the Watermill

As, at last, the coronavirus pandemic is coming under control, and constraints on travel and regulations on quarantine being relaxed, we are beginning to welcome guests again on our creative courses.

Your well-being is always our concern, and we are constantly reviewing the situation.

At the Watermill, all the staff have a European Union Green Pass, or certificazione verde, as the health certificate is known in Italy. It proves that the bearer has been fully vaccinated, has recovered from Covid-19 within the past six months, or has received a negative test result in the past 48 hours.

All our staff work to the highest standards of hygiene, with strict daily procedures for preparing food and cleaning our public rooms and bedrooms. If there are still any special regulations in place from the Italian health authorities, we will, of course, ensure that we fully comply with them.

Please also rest assured that if travel restrictions in your own country or in Italy mean that the course cannot run on the dates specified, or that appropriate flights are not available, we will postpone your course to a later date.

Our coronavirus cancellation policy is as follows:

  • If a creative course is cancelled by us, rather than just being postponed, we will refund any payment in full.
  • If you have to cancel because of regulations regarding the coronavirus in your own country or in Italy, we will offer you a place on a later course with the same tutor, or you may choose another tutor in our programme.
  • When the balance is due, two months before the beginning of a course, we will review the coronavirus situation with you, to ensure that it is safe to travel.
  • When you have paid your balance, our normal cancellation conditions apply: If you have to cancel four to eight weeks before departure, a charge of 40% of the total price is payable; at two to four weeks, 60%; at one to two weeks, 80%; at less than one week, 90%. Once the course has started,100% is payable. We highly recommend that you take out travel insurance that includes provision for you having to cancel.

If you would like to support us and our business, in the event of a postponement of your course we would be grateful if you would use any payments you have made as a credit for a future creative course, rather than requesting a refund. Your help in this way would be much appreciated.
