I am an early riser and this was the sight across the courtyard and through the walled garden this morning round about 6 o’clock. As the sun rises, you can still see the fairy lights twinkling to celebrate my daughter Lydia’s birthday a week or so ago. (I think we will leave them up as they look so pretty in the evening light, as well as augmenting the dawn.)

We are gearing up for the second part of our creative season, which starts on Saturday. We still have a few places left on our painting courses and on our Italian language week (details and links below.) We’d love you to join us – and you don’t even have to get up early like me. Just nestle under your duvet and listen to the sound of the river, and then the church bells sounding the hour and the half hour, before I ring my bell to summon you for breakfast, to begin another day of inspiring teaching, warm hospitality, delightful scenery, delicious food and wine and convivial company of like-minded people. Perhaps today you will be painting in the walled garden,or we will be taking out one of our fabulous locations: a mediaeval castle, market day in a walled Italian town, a quiet convent and a thousand year old village with spectacular views of the mountains. What’s stopping you? We’d love to have your company, too.

Come and join in the magic. Here’s the list of remaining creative courses, with links for more details.
As well as offering a few places still available this year (see below), we are now taking bookings for 2023. You can find out more by clicking here.
