It is sad to report that last Thursday’s Watermill online, interactive painting session with Mike Willdridge was the last of our early 2021 season. But we are glad to report that we will be back online in the autumn/fall of 2021 and look forward to welcoming even more of our enthusiastic guests then. (As well as welcoming Watermill guests for our creative courses for real this summer as travel to Italy opens up.)
Last Thursday’s participants seemed to enjoy the session as much as ever as well as commenting on the whole series:
†Thanks so much for a brilliant year of art! I cannot tell you how much I have learned.†“I have learned so much about improving my painting over the course of this past year.†“I really have enjoyed the sessions with you, see you when your back on zoom. Hope you both have a wonderful summer.†“Thank you so much for all that you have done for us! I love painting with Mike and hope to paint with him at the Watermill someday.†“I want to thank you for the opportunities you have provided during this long lock down. They have provided a ray of sunshine and hope that have stimulated my creativity.†“What a life-saver these workshops have been. Thank you all. I’ve learned so much!â€
The scene for last Thursday session was the delightful Bonjour Café in Mike’s home town of Poundbury, in the county of Dorset in the south of England. The aim of the session was to learn how to simplify your paintings. Above is the painting that Mike himself made during the session, and below I have added a few of the paintings sent by our guests to our online Gallery. The pictures were selected entirely at random and, as ever, my apologies to those who have been left out by lack of space.
As I said above, our online interactive sessions will be starting again in the autumn/fall of 2021, but why not join Mike for real at the Watermill at Posara this summer? We would love to welcome you to the Watermill. You can find more details of Mike’s week-long courses, 28 August-4 September 2021, and 4-11 September, here.
