More than 200 people have already signed up for our painting professor Pamme Turner’s FREE online Zoom session this Thursday (11 January), to learn how to capture the beauty of their own backyards*. There is s till time for you to join them, which you can do by clicking here.
Pamme, a regular Watermill painting course tutor and a fine art professor, will show you how to uncover the beauty of small moments and mini-subjects. You will learn how to transform everyday scenes into noteworthy pieces of art or using subjects right outside your own back door.
As well as tips and techniques for painting en plein air, Pamme will also be telling you about her unique colour mixes. No matter your skill level, you will find plenty to inspire you during this FREE 45-minute session,

*It was either Oscar Wilde or George Bernard Shaw who first said that the USA and the UK were “two nations divided by a common language.” (Nobody knows for sure, but my money is on Shaw.) And this certainly seems to be to be true as far as backyards are concerned in Britain, a backyard is generally a small space with no garden, but in the USA, I understand, the term can extend to quite a large back garden, lawn, flowers and trees included.

As a professional artist with BFA/MFA degrees in Fine Arts and technical expertise in multiple and diverse art mediums, Pamme Turner is an art professor and former EI Department Chair of Fine and Liberal Arts at Saddleback College in Southern California. She has lived and taught fine arts classes and art workshops all over the world. Her u, gouache and egg tempera paintings, drawings and ceramics are included in museum collections and numerous exhibitions and private collections worldwide.
