More than 70 people registered for Randy Hale’s online interactive painting session with the Watermill last week. The subject was a rainy day in the ancient city of Rouen in France, with the pavements shining wetly and the great mass of the cathedral louring in the. background.
More than 50 enthusiastic painters turned up for the live session, painting along step-by-step with Randy and many of the others are planning to paint the subject at home after they’ve downloaded the edited video of Randy’s paint-along session, which was released soon after the session.
We are so proud of our ‘virtual’ international painting community, where people from all over the world get together for two or three hours of convivial creativity. We are also very grateful to the many participants who sent the paintings they made with Randy to our online gallery. As usual, I made a little montage of half a dozen, of them, chosen entirely at random, which you can see above. (Below is Randy’s own painting of the scene.)
Our next Watermill interactive online session is with Mike Willdridge on 25 January 2024, when he will be visiting an Italian seaside town to show you how to capture the warmth of the sunlight in your paintings. You can find out all about that by clicking here.
Randy Hale will be back on 1 February 2024 with a distinctly American painting treat: a rodeo rider and his horse. Randy will be demonstrating how to convert a compelling photograph into an exciting painting. Click here for details of that.
And you be like to join one of our other renowned watermill painting tutors, Pamme Turner, who will be online this Thursday, with a short FREE session on creating attractive paintings in your own backyard. I will bring you more details about that tomorrow, but if you can’t wait to find out more, Here’s a link.
