Do you have an NPP? We are always delighted to welcome them to the Watermill, as well as NKPs, NWPs and NILPs! (For the uninitiated, that’s Non-Painting Partners, Non-Knitting Partners, Non-Writing Partners and Non-Learning Italian Partners.)

An increasing number of our creative course guests bring a spouse or a friend, who doesn’t join the teaching part of the course, but enjoys the wonderful hospitality of the mill and, whenever they want,  come out with the group to our beautiful locations and charming. local restaurants.

We also offer a range of Alternative Activities for Partners on all our creative courses, as well as a generous £GBP 250 discount if they share a room with you.

Our new offering for partners is a fantastic way of seeing the dramatic scenery of our area, taking a little (but not too much) healthy exercise, accompanied  and guided by an expert in the local ecology and history.

A thousand-year-old village and monastery

Yes, we can arrange for you to take a tour on an e-bike (a pedal bicycle with an electric motor that cuts in when the going gets too tough). You will be refreshed and invigorated in both body and mind.

The Watermill is surrounded by two environmentally protected areas: The National Park of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, the backbone of Italy, and the Regional Park of the Apuan Alps, the marble mountains of Carrara.

The starting point: the historic market town of Fivizzano.

The e-bike tours are run by Il Centro Lunigiana Sostenibile (The Lunigiana Sustainable Centre),which has been working here for 20 years to enhance the local area’s natural and cultural resources. We can fix a half-day or a whole-day guided tour.
