Online sessions for interactive painting

The Watermill and our travel-guru tutor, Randy Hale, invite you to be part of an online sessions program during our off-season months. Anyone considering travel in their future should let Randy help you discover the joys of working PLEINAIR LITE!

Join the club for £300 for the full package plus Eventbrite fees and tax.

Each month, from October-thru-March you’ll be part of a two-hour online class that explores a variety of tips, techniques, and tricks around journaling, sketching, and making quick studies of our surroundings. You’ll build your confidence in working en pleinair before heading off on vacation…wherever your destination may be!

Pleinair Lite provides advance information before each class. You’ll be part of a community of painters who come together “live” online each month to paint or draw. We’ll send you each month’s class recording to review at your own pace, you’ll receive assignments to practice what you learn, and then post this work for one-on-one feedback from Randy, each and every month throughout the winter. What a great way to tune up your pleinair skills as you look forward to your summer get-aways!

Our forthcoming online sessions

Our six-month course meets the second Thursday of each month on these dates:

Please note that the start time is 5pm UK time (GMT). This equates to 12 noon – East Coast USA; 11.00am – Central Time USA; 10.00am – Mountain Time USA; 9.00am – Pacific Coast Time USA unless otherwise dictated by daylight savings.

It will be possible to book onto single sessions and tickets to these will be posted closer to the time on Eventbrite at £60 (plus Eventbrite fees) per session.

An email with a link to the zoom session, information on materials and where to post homework assignments will be shared before the event.

Illuminating and inspiring

We would love you to join us and we are sure you will find the online, interactive sessions both illuminating and inspiring – all from the comfort of you home.

Happy painting!

Testimonials

Randy, thank you for a great resource and instruction.

DL

Thank you so much for another fantastic session. I love your use of colour and composition, but particularly your “fast and loose” style! It is a lesson I really struggle with, and every time I fiddle with a painting I lose it. But, hey, I love to keep trying. I so much enjoy painting along with you and endeavouring to keep up. Thank you again.

LG

I have really enjoyed the three on line workshops that I have taken with you. Hope to take a session in person at the Watermill one day.

SS

Although watercolour is not my main medium, I continue to challenge myself with it. It amazes me to see what effect something as simple as water can have from brush to palette to paper. Thank you for sharing your talent. I thoroughly enjoyed this class.

JH

I learned a lot from the two-hour workshop and all the feedback to given to me and other students.

I really enjoyed this workshop. I’m working on a landscape with mountains so this was very helpful. I look forward to more with you.

Thank you so much for this class. I loved the picture and watching you is so stimulating. It encourages me to paint more! Thank you for all your insights and techniques you share and it was especially great to hear all your teachings on color.

Keep up to date with the latest from the Watermill
