Watercolours
Randy Hale is an exciting watercolour painter from Colorado in United States. As well as his workshops in the USA, he has taken painting groups all over the world. His love of the medium comes through in his teaching. He keeps things light and fun, but never fails to provide a wealth of useful tips with straightforward explanations. A great deal of Randy’s approach to teaching can be traced back to the influence his college mentor, James Green, had on him. Jim Green was one of the original members of a unique group of watercolorists who painted together in the early-to-mid twentieth century. The style of work evolving from these artists came to be known as the California School of Watercolor Painting.
Randy’s painting career
Randy did his undergraduate work in studio design at Principia College in Illinois, USA, and went on to earn a graduate degree in Business from the University of Denver. But it was his immersion in studies at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where he crafted a solid foundation in design and composition. Any day that Randy gets to paint is an adventure to be cherished! And he loves to share these precious opportunities with others. Over the years Randy has been involved with numerous art groups, serving on both local and national boards. He has been active in organizing regional, and national, and international exhibitions. He is sought after as a juror, and provides insightful critiques. His painting demonstrations are entertaining and full of commentary – both in person as well as online via ZOOM connections. Whether he is conducting a workshop in the studio or en plein air, it is apparent that his true passion is in sharing his knowledge as a teacher and tutor. His Painted Palette Tours offers students a chance to enjoy the excitement of travel with fellow art enthusiasts, discovering exotic locations and capturing expressive paintings that enrich their travel experience.
