Watercolours and ink (and gouache)

Crystal Beshara is an award-winning contemporary realist painter living in a village in rural Ontario, Canada. She has won international acclaim for her artwork in both watercolour and oil. She is an associate member of The American Watercolour Society, member with distinction of American Women Artists and an elected member of Woman Artists of The West, Artists Who Teach, American Watercolor Society, Elected Fellow Ottawa Watercolour Society and The International Guild of Realism. She graduated with honours and holds a BFA in Studio and a Botanical Illustration diploma from the Society of Botanical Artists (UK). She has exhibited and taught workshops all over the world including Southwest USA, Greece, Ireland, Canada, France, England and Mexico, but has always called Eastern Ontario her home.

Crystal now lives in the countryside nestled in a tiny village between Ottawa Ontario and Montreal Quebec with her husband and their two senior dogs. She says: “My work reflects my rural roots and is a collision of two worlds: Realism and Expressionism. Realism allows me to reflect our human desire to recognize a shape, place and subject, while the strokes, drips and splatter are the result of an intuitive relation to the medium at hand.”

Her course will concentrate on travel journalling, sketching and painting around the Watermill and in the stunning surrounding countryside of unspoiled rural Tuscany.

Keep up to date with the latest from the Watermill
