Cecil Rice is an unusual teacher in that he blends a wealth of his own specialist painting skills with excellent teaching practice which is reflected in his well considered and carefully planned classes. I would consider him to be a Master Watercolourist (this was the medium taught in our class), who is not too shy to demonstrate an excellent new painting every week for our zoom classes which is a rare thing.

He brings together a group of different abilities in a very encouraging way, allowing everyone to search for their own expression and talents. As a former Fine Art student I have learnt a huge amount of technique and approach by observing him or just the inspiration to paint along with my own versions of the projects he has set.
