We are looking forward to the visit of one of our new watercolour tutors, Carl March, next month, not least to see how he captures the glorious scenery around the Watermill in his sketchbook – and encourages you to do the same. Why not come and join us? We still have a couple of painting places left.
Carl March, an English painter and printmaker, has studied in Milan and lived until recently in Dubai: a truly international artist! Drawing and design are his passions, and he likes to experiment with various drawing mediums, combining them with traditional watercolour painting processes to create distinctively subtle works.

Carl is also a great teacher. He says: “I love the genuine satisfaction in passing on my knowledge to others. “A comment from one of his previous students: ““Carl has a gentle but effective way of teaching and we have learnt a lot from him. Most importantly, however, under his guidance the class always becomes a very sociable and happy group. Quite simply, his classes are not only well planned and informative but also great fun.
And a river runs by…

We now have 10 people booked into Carl’s course, but we have room for two or three more painters (and their non-painting partners if they would like to join them.) And don’t forget you will be Cool and Green: all our bedrooms and public rooms, including the studio, are air-conditioned powered by our hidden array of photovoltaic cells which make us self-sufficient in electricity.
