Randy Hale, our encouraging and enthusiastic watercolour tutor, keeps on enjoying the Watermill and its surroundings at long-distance, painting, from photographs and mental memories, the scenes that inspired him on his last visits to us.
You may recollect a few months back we showed you his dramatic picture of the house and palm trees on the switchback road from Posara to the walled mediaeval town of Fivizzano. Above is the latest version. Here is the original:
Randy freely admits that he has taken artistic liberties with the composition, adding dramatic effect by making the palm trees slightly higher than they are in reality. But if artists can’t take artistic liberties who can?
Randy will be joining us again this Saturday and we could squeeze you in for his week if you want to make a last-minute booking. But it seems more realistic to join him when he returns in 2023, especially as you can enjoy his 2023 course at 2022 prices if you book now. Come and put some artistic drama in your paintings, too.
You will be painting along with Randy at the Watermill and at the wonderful locations we visit during his week, including a mediaeval castle, a walled market town, a quiet convent and a thousand-year-old village with stunning views of the mountains beyond.
We love to welcome you here to share our part of Tuscany paradise.
