Watermill watercolour tutor Randy Hale is the greatest ‘salesman’ for painting courses here in rural Tuscany. He says“The Watermill is an amazing painting holiday destination. It is majestic, yet intimate. A jewel of a hideaway in the foothills of the Tuscan mountains where you’ll soak the ambiance of old Italy! And don’t forget to bring your non-painting partner or friend with you so you can both experience some incredible memory moments! Painters and non-painters alike will discover the unique and varied vistas of northern Tuscany.“
Randy adds: “Let the folks at the Watermill handle everything for you – all you need to do is arrive in Pisa at the airport. They’ll pick you up at noon on Saturday and return you there the following Saturday. Our holiday takes us to a different and varied painting location each day we’re there. Lunches are arranged ahead of time so you eat with the locals! Breakfasts and dinners are family affairs — our entire group sits together around a large common table. Enjoy the convivial conversations and the most incredible farm-to-table meals prepared by our hosts.“
“Freshen up after a fulfilling day of painting then meet beneath the garden’s grape arbor for appertivos and a specialty drink before you’re called to dinner. After each day’s amazing evening meal, most will retire to the gallery sitting room for a nightcap along with interesting tales of the day’s adventure as you admire an extensive gallery collection of plein air paintings by Watermill tutors.
“Don’t worry about packing easels, boards, or stools – they are all there waiting for you in a breathtaking art studio! The towering studio windows open up for fresh air to breeze thru the vaulted space ensuring cool temperatures throughout summer months. Before you register, check out each of the unique and individually decorated suites, apartments, and guest quarters – you get to pick which one you want! Courtyards and patios are aplenty, offering sun or shade. Most have views of cascading water shooting from the mills sluices or of the rushing mountain stream weaving down the slopes of thick bamboo forests.â€
Our years are burning, but we could not .have put it better ourselves. We told you Randy was a great salesman! Come and join us for a creative and convivial week with him this June.
We still have space for two more painters (and their non-painting partners, too, if they would like to come: there is plenty for them to do.)
