Wow! No sooner had our guests for our first creative week of the season arrived, that the Tuscan heavens opened. (That’s not quite true, we managed a couple of hours of sunshine and a walk along the riverbank and millstream, but by the end of the evening, the rain was torrential. And today it seems settled in.
But are we downhearted? No – and neither are the ladies on Norah Gaughan’s knitting week, enjoying each other’s company and learning new skills in the cosy warmth of the Watermill sitting room (above).
We are hoping for sunshine soon, and in the next few days we should be enjoying outside knitting on the Watermill’s vine verandah, at a quiet convent and in the grounds of a gourmet hilltop restaurant with stunning mountain views.
That’s all for the future. Today sees the beginning of work on Norah’s special projects for the week and the first task of converting the skeins the wall she has brought into balls. The sitting room is full of laughter and convivial conversation.
We still have a few places left on our upcoming knitting weeks and we’d love you to join us. We can promise you some sunshine, honest!
