Our new American painting tutor Pamme Turner has just sent us a Californian Christmas card, a demonstration picture painted on her last plein air painting course this week. It is called ‘The Mission at Christmas (Southern CA).’
Pamme says: “The decorations mark a holiday here usually celebrated in a t-shirt, but no snow or beautiful icicles! Poinsettias, red velvet bows, glowing votive candles and pine wreaths mark the occasion outside the chapel entrance in this southern California landmark.â€
Thank you for sharing that with us, Pamme. We are looking forward to meeting up with you for your painting course here at the Watermill next year.
Pamme’s course here is called ‘Plein Air Essentials’ in watercolors and gouache, and will run from Saturday 9 July to Saturday, 16 July 2022.
In this lovely workshop you’ll learn to paint with both transparent and/or opaque mediums “en plein air,†with an emphasis on beautiful watercolour techniques. As well as painting in the glorious Tuscan countryside you will also be working in the light and airy Watermill studio. The course is designed for painters of all levels.
(And don’t forget you will always be Cool and Green in the Watermill itself: all our bedrooms and all our public rooms have air conditioning, powered by our hidden array of photovoltaic panels, which make us self-sufficient in electricity.)
