Continuing our series of introductions to old friends and new tutors who will be joining us for the 2022 creative courses season, today it is the turn of our new knitting tutor Louisa Harding.
Inspired by the textile heritage of her home county of Yorkshire in England, Louisa and her husband Stephen established the Yarntelier brand, combining the finest yarns with beautiful designs, to make each piece an item of hand-crafted couture.
In the first half of Louisa’s week here. you will be creating a stitch sampler. At the same time, you will pull together images and notes on the surrounding area, using them as inspiration for the second half of your week when you will put together your own shawl, scarf, wrap or cowl under Louisa’s expert guidance. Louisa will bring with her a mix of yarns – in colour and texture (cashmere, mohair, silk, chenille and alpaca) – for you to use.
And as ever, your knitting week at the Watermill will combine expert tuition, like-minded company, wonderful food and the delightful ambience of the Watermill, it’s gardens and riverside walks, and outings into the surrounding unspoiled countryside of Lunigiana in Tuscany, Italy.
Louisa will be with us from Saturday 7 May to Saturday 14 May 2022. See the link below. We currently have 12 people booked into her course, three of whom are non-knitting partners, so we have room for one or two more people.
