Congratulations to Myra Baynton, who won the picture above by tutor Mike Willdridge in the prize draw at the end of our ‘virtual’ online, interactive painting week at the Watermill. The painting is of the flower market in the wonderful Italian city of Lucca which we ‘visited’ on our excursion day during the week.
Mike is organising a mount for the painting and suitable protection before mailing it off. Thank you Myra for joining us and the 80+ like-minded people painted along with Mike last week. As he says: “It was a wonderful week and I think from the many comments we’ve received, greatly enjoyed and appreciated by many many people.â€
Now that we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel as far as the coronavirus is concerned, we are planning a reawakening of our ‘real’ creative courses at the Watermill this summer. And the first course is with Mike himself, from Saturday, 12 June to Saturday, 19 June 2021. Mike will also be with us for two courses later in the year.
After, as Macbeth would have it, being ‘cabined, cribbed, confined, bound in to saucy doubts and fears’ for so long, the time has come to plan an escape to the fresh air and wonderful scenery of rural Tuscany, to the warm hospitality of the Watermill and the inspiring, sympathetic teaching of Mike. We would love to welcome you here. More details on our website: just click here. (We are just in the process of updating the website, so Mike’s week 12-19 June may not be up yet. If you are particularly interested in that week, please leave a comment on our blog page and we will get back to you.)
