Course dates 2018

Saturday 5 May to Saturday 12 May 2018

Saturday 12 May to Saturday 19 May 2018

Profile

Sarah will be working on two projects over the holiday (see below) and, as well as workshops at the mill, we'll also, excitingly, be working at a privately owned ex-monastery and in the grounds of a fabulous hill-top restaurant.

You will have time to sit and relax or wander around the mill's gardens and environs as and when you please. You will have the perfect opportunity to make new friends in the company of like-minded people learning new knitting techniques and tips from Marie ... and enjoying unspoilt Italy and, of course, fantastic food and wine.

During her workshops Sarah will give you professional finishing tips and technique, from picking which size to make or yarn to use, to picking up edges and sewing your project together. This workshop aims to take your knits from homemade to handmade.

Knitting projects

Knitting project - Cafe curtain
Knitting project - A Cable project

This year you'll be working with Sarah on two specially designed projects (her projects for 2018 have yet to be decided, and we'll keep you posted over the coming months):

A lace scarf

This project will help you understand how eyelet lace is formed; we will also cover short row shaping, beading and knitted on edges.

A cable project

If you have always wanted to tackle the classic Aran sweater but were terrified to start this project aims to ease your way into working cables.

Note: - All the yarn for these projects will be provided free of charge. You just bring your knitting needles: 3.25mm, 3.5mm, 4.5mm, 5mm and 6mm, and 6mm cable needle.

Praise

....from one of Sarah’s 2016 group: I had a wonderful time at The Watermill and Bill and his 'team' looked after us brilliantly. The food was delicious and The Watermill is such a special place in beautiful countryside. I am already looking forward to coming again next May. Thank you so much for all that you did to make this such a special holiday. EH
